Last day of 2012!

What a good way to finish 2012. I just finished making tamales with my parents. Now we are waiting for them to be cooked. Mexican tamales are usually ready in 2 hours. While waiting my 4 brothers and I watched a few episodes of "The Office." The tamales were not ready yet. Then we watched "Bridesmaid", BEST MOVIE EVER....just saying. That movie had all of us laughing our asses off, especially that bathroom scene. Classic. By the time we finished the movie, the tamales were READY. While eating I bought up the time when my brother, two aunts and I got lost in San Francisco during new years eve. We were suppose to meet my other brother and my dad at the pier to watch a firework show, but on our way over there, we decided to get on a trolley. We were so stunned to see a trolley that we said "what the hell". WORST MISTAKE EVER. We ended up in a trolley full of drunk people. We just sat in the corner. Scared for our lives. Anyways, we finally got off the trolley and walked to a big street. We followed a crowd that was going towards the end of the street and thankfully we survived. I mean who follows a crowd of people in the dark streets of San Francisco. We followed the crowd for 10 minutes and then saw the pier. We got soooooo HAPPY....We saw the firework show and then bumped into my brother and dad. Crazy ass experience.

Now back to eating tamales. We made tamales of dulce, chile verde and chile rojo. We ate until our bellies exploded. Nonetheless, it was a great way to end the year. Our last 2012 meal was full of laughter and joy. Happy New Years.

King Taco

COUNTDOWN: 271 days

It's not funny when you are starving and all of the restaurants are closed. Well at least all of the good restaurants. My parents and I were coming back from a church service and was already 10pm. The church service was quite, but I mean really quite, the type of quite where you can hear your hair growing. With that being said, my stomach started to growl out of nowhere. It sounded like somebody was farting. How EMBARRASSING. Anyways, they were selling food after the church service but by the time it was my turn to order there was no more food. NOOO. I got on the car and left. On our way back home, my dad was looking for somewhere to eat but there weren't any places open. Our church is located in South Central, so when I say there weren't any places open, I mean it. We passed by King Taco, my eyes glowed like if I had just won the lottery. I know I sound like a fat ass but seriously I was soo hungry. I woke up at 4:05pm and church started at 5pm so I didn't eat breakfast. Anyways, I ordered a burrito de carne asada and drank a horchata. I learned a valuable lesson...never skip breakfast and go to church...unless you want to make farting noises...no thank you.

Cupcake sale.

COUNTDOWN: 272 Days

Last Saturday of the year 2012. Wow! And how did I spend the last Saturday of the year? Baking, eating and selling CUPCAKES. Yummmmmmmy. I didn't have a single clue of how to make cupcakes before today. Thankfully my best friend Claudia is an expert in baking. Like seriously. We made chocolate and strawberry cupcakes. The chocolates cupcakes had strawberry frosting and the strawberry cupcakes had chocolate frosting. (Yea read that again haha)

The first bite was delicious. Now I'm thinking of starting to bake on my own. Gotta learn how to use the oven first. Anyways, we raised almost $86 and sold each cupcake for 50cents. YAY! Another thing that happened today was that I kept calling the cupcakes PANCAKES!!! Not cool. I guess I'll make myself some pancakes for breakfast. It also wasn't a good idea to wear a black shirt while baking, it got full of white stains? O.o I'm going to keep practicing baking cupcakes and hopefully make some for my friend's, Ana, 21st birthday party. We'll see.

Last Friday of 2012

COUNTDOWN: 273 days

Today is the last friday of 2012. How cool is that? Very cool. Looking forward to tonight. I'm going out with a very fun group of my friends. We are going to In N Out and then ice skating. Even I suck at ice skating and I always fall on my ass. It's okay because that's what makes it more fun. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who is going to be falling because back in 2010 during "senior ice skating night", one of my friends, Jose, fell a little more than 15 times...I'm serious. I was part of the yearbook staff and even made Jose a column of ICE SKATER OF THE NIGHT, for having the most falls. He liked it so its all GOOD. Anyways back to tonight's plans. I'm going to see if we can go to the movies afterwards. I've been wanting to watch "this is 40". We will see. If we don't go then we always have tomorrow. Anyways, is it normal to look forward to falling on my ass...I mean...ice skating? haha

First ONE

COUNTDOWN: 278 days

Today was so much fun!! We threw a surprise 21st birthday party for my friend, Eva. It was me, Yvette, Ana, Vicky and Julio. We filled the living room with colorful balloons and hung decorations all over the wall. As we waited patiently for Eva to arrive, a series of random events occurred. The funniest one was when Vicky told Julio we needed to buy ice. The way she said it was soo hilarious. He was sitting on the couch watching "white chicks" and out of nowhere Vicky stands in front of the TV and says "we need to buy ice" with such a straight and serious face. It just one of those things you had to be there to get it. After we came back from buying the ice, Eva finally came in and our surprised was a success. YAY!!! We then ate birria, beans and rice. We cut the cake and time flew by. I hadn't laughed soo hard since a long time like tonight. So many funny moments and random things. I'm just excited for the rest of next year...2013...since Eva is the first one of us to turn 21. I forgot to mention one thing, I had my first virgin margarita tonight. I feel like such a badass haha jk. Too bad I'm the last of my friends to turn 21. September can you come any faster? Pretty please.
